Children’s Little Library: The Little Library is located outside and at the corner of Wimberly House. This Little Library was established through a joint effort of the Burke County High School Art Club and Durant Eye Care. Wimberly House is deeply honored to be recipient of the first art club Little Library. The library is stocked with children’s books donated by various organizations or fundraisers associated with the art club. Children may take, borrow, or exchange books. The library is checked weekly and restocked, as needed. If you have new or slightly loved books you wish to donate, we will graciously accept them.
Divorce Education for Parents: Scheduled 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Call for the date of class and to register. Facilitator: Carole Meek, M.Ed., NCC, LPC. There is a $30 per person fee, established by Superior Court/Augusta Judicial Circuit, paid to the facilitator.

Girl Scout Troop #20384: This group meets on Saturday during the school session every other weekend. Registration fee is $25. There is a Financial Assistance Troop with Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia (to any the registration fee) offered through the following: Amerigroup, Peach State Health Plan, WellCare, Caresource and Blue Choice Health Plan. Also, Purification Cellutions has agreed to sponsor a scholarship (pay for registration, uniform, petals, dues), available to two girls. Leaders: Anquinta Jackson and Francina Smalls-Kobus. Judicial Citizen Review Panel: This monthly panel meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month to monitor and make recommendations to the court regarding children in foster care. There is a two-day training required, at no cost, provided by the State of Georgia. The next training date has not been announced. Nar Anon: Thursday at 6 p.m. Support group for those who have someone they know, like, love or live with, that is addicted to narcotics. Facilitators: Tammy Chance and Dr. Donald Tew.

St. Nicholas’ Toy Box at Wimberly House: We are partnering with Spring Creek Auction Company in Millen to gather and distribute toys to children forgotten by Santa. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Summer Camp: This week-long program serves grades 1-5, offering summer fun with arts and crafts, community enrichment, lunch and MUCH MORE. The date for next year’s summer camp will be announced prior to school dismissal for the summer. The cost is $20 per student, with scholarships available. This year’s camp served 40 children about taking life’s “Right Direction.” Coordinator: Lynn White

Tutoring After School for Elementary Students: Referrals accepted from teachers or counselors at any local elementary school. Program begins September 17; 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
